Starting off my career, I would have thought of myself as a field and lab ecologist with an interest in parasites and diseases in marine ecosystems. This characterization of my career has evolved over time to what it is today, an ecologically and biologically driven statistician. I am largely motivated by the idea of One Health, which is the idea that ecosystem and human health are not mutually independent and are in fact intrinsically linked. In this respect, I work to leverage my background in ecology and biology in the field and lab to provide the best relevant analyses and information needed to advance the field and answer the questions posed. Beyond this, I am also interested in understanding what influences health of ecosystems, people, and organisms and how people view data and thinking about how we present data in visuals.
